VisionX 5

Introducing VisionX 5

Build enterprise applications faster with VisionX 5, our latest product update.

VisionX 5 is the biggest leap forward. It’s more web-focused than ever before, and with ready-made templates, building applications has never been easier.” – Roland Hörmann, CEO of SIB Visions

What’s New With VisionX 5?

VisionX 5 is a modern, new glimpse into the future of low-code platforms. VisionX 5 is more web-focused than any other version before. Of course, it still supports the creation of desktop apps.
VisionX 5 comes with an entire range of new features (like our new CSS editor), and new, ready-to-use themes, all relevant list/detail view navigations, plus many additional improvements.

New Themes

With VisionX 5, we also added a new default theme, called “Valo”. This will be your standard theme when creating new applications. Obviously, you can change the theme in your web settings wizard.
VisionX 5 also comes with a new set up themes: Standard, Valo, Valo (small), and Mobile.

New CSS Editor

With the newly added CSS editor, you can change the style of your application directly inside VisionX. The new CSS editor also supports autocomplete and live synchronization. With live synchronization you can directly view CSS changes simply by reloading your browser.
Additionally, the new CSS editor also supports search, replace, and go-to commands.

Vaadin 8 Support

VisionX now supports the Vaadin framework version 8 for building new web applications. In late summer of 2017, we started working on the migration from Vaadin 7 to Vaadin 8. All in all, we are excited to announce the availability of Vaadin 8.
Plus, with our Vaadin Add-On, you can also install Vaadin Add-Ons from the official Vaadin directory.

Oracle PL/SQL

With our latest update of VisionX 5, you can directly call Oracle PL/SQL procedures and functions within VisionX.
Procedures and Functions are the subprograms which can be created and saved in the database as database objects.

New Web Features & Navigation Options

In order to create a modern web application, VisionX offers a list-detail view navigation with our newly launched “Editing Panel”.
Simply pick the “Editing Panel” and drag it on your created screen. With the editing panel, you can choose between different navigation types, such as a classic switch between list and detail view, popup views, or a list-detail view on the same screen.
The editing panel also allows you to add new, data-bound web elements – such as an insert or delete button – and web styles to your created screens. These elements are ready to use for your application.
We’ve also added new web elements that are ready to use for your app.
